AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF DAILY MONEY MANAGERS TO OFFER WORKSHOP IN TAMPA

The American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM) will sponsor a “Daily Money Management Business Basics” workshop on Saturday, January 13 at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore, Tampa, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This marks the third time this introductory workshop is being offered outside of AADMM’s annual meeting.

The workshop is designed both for those who are considering Daily Money Management as a career, and for those who are new to the profession. The workshop explains what is needed to perform the duties of a Daily Money Manager on a daily basis. Attendees will learn what DMMs do, and will identify the traits and skills needed to be effective in the profession. It will also help attendees understand steps needed to establish or build a client base and understand the steps needed to jump-start the business. There will be a discussion of the specifics of operating your own business, including fees, pricing and billing practices.

AADMM President Marcia Turner, Y.E.A., LLC, North Branford, CT, and AADMM Secretary Pamela Nielsen Brehler, CSA, Chapel Hill, NC will lead the workshop.

Turner established her daily money management business in 1996 after a 22-year career in retail bank management with Fleet Bank and its predecessors. In her business, she serves individuals, small businesses and non-profit organizations. She has held various local leadership positions with Financial Women International and was their New England president.

Brehler has provided daily money management services to her older adult client base for six years. A Certified Senior Advisor, her background is in consumer baking at the Bank of America and Nations Bank. As a member of the AADMM Board of Directors, she strives to provide continued support of DMMs by offering opportunities for professional and personal development. She has served on the faculty for several previous sessions of the Business Basics Workshop.

Turner, who is the current President of AADMM, said evaluations from previous workshops included: “I found the experience to far exceed my expectations,” and I felt this was an excellent step-by-step overview.”

The workshop is being offered at a rate of $240 for members of AADMM and $275 for non-members. The fee includes the course, a complete training manual, a networking lunch and refreshment breaks. Non-members who join AADMM within a month of the workshop will receive a $25 discount on the membership fee.

More detailed information on the program and registration material can be found at AADMM’s website, www.AADMM.com. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance is limited to the first 50 paid registrants to ensure maximum dialogue throughout the workshop. Deadline for the special AADMM rate at the conference hotel is Friday, December 29.

Future Daily Money Management Business Basics Workshops will be held in 2007 on May 5, Chicago, IL; July 28, Providence, RI; and, November 9 in conjunction with the AADMM Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX.
