AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF DAILY MONEY MANAGERS ELECTS OFFICERS AND
BOARD
The Board of Directors of the American Association of Daily Money
Managers (AADMM) has elected John Bowen, Bookkeeping and Daily Money
Management, Falls Church, VA as president for 2007. Other new
officers include: Vice President - Fredlyn O’Hara, Money Matters,
Audubon, NJ; Secretary - Patricia S. Morris, Esq. CFP, Personal
Money Manager, Newton, MA; and Treasurer -Pamela Nielsen Brehler,
CSA, Personal Finances Management, Chapel Hill, NC.
At its January meeting, the Board welcomed these new members elected
by the membership: Gloria Froman, Let Me Get the Bill, Inc, from
Chicago, IL; Phyllis Pawlovsky, Personal Financial Care, LLC, New
York, NY; and Gina Pirrone, GCP Financial, LLC, Ho HoKus, NJ.
Also continuing board service will be Barbara Hance, Barbara H.
Hance Associates, Inc., Farmington, CT; Karl J. Nielsen, Nielsen
Associates, Milford, NJ, and Immediate Past President Marcia Turner,
Y.E.A., LLC, North Branford, CT.
John Bowen: The new president of the AADMM began his daily
money management business in 2003, after a career as an
economic/commercial officer in the US Foreign Service. In addition
to providing bookkeeping for small businesses and non-profits, he
also offers services for busy professionals, including owners of
small businesses.
Fredlyn O’Hara: O’Hara has been an AADMM Board member for
five years, serving as Treasurer in 2006. She provides daily money
management services to seniors, busy working people, and businesses.
Earlier in her career, O’Hara worked for the Social Security
Administration for ten years focusing on Medicare. She first managed
a branch office, then worked in the district office in Richmond, VA
and the regional office in Philadelphia. After that experience, she
managed a CPA firm for 16 years.
Patricia Morris: Morris holds an undergraduate degree in
sociology, a master’s degree in counseling, a law degree, and
certificate in financial planning. She spends most of her time
working as a personal money manager, assisting individuals with bill
paying services and financial counseling. In addition, she maintains
a legal practice devoted primarily to guardianship cases. For many
years, she worked as an attorney for a state agency in
Massachusetts.
Pamela Nielsen Brehler: Nielsen Brehler has been providing
daily money management services to her older adult client base for
the last six years. She is a Certified Senior Advisor with a
background in consumer banking. She helped establish the curriculum
for AADMM Business Basics Workshop for beginning Daily Money
Managers and has served as an instructor.
Gloria Froman: Froman has more than 20 years experience in
financial accounts management. She holds a Bachelor's degree from
the University of Illinois and attended a graduate fellowship
program at Roosevelt University. Supplemental and additional
coursework includes Accounting, Insurance, Human Services, Health
Information Management, and Medical Billing and Coding.
Phyllis Pawlovsky: Pawlovsky has been providing money
management services to the elderly, people with disabilities, career
professionals, and small businesses since 1994. She became a member
of AADMM in 2002. She has a Bachelor of Business Studies from Pace
University and completed the Geriatric Care Management program at
Brookdale Center for the Aging. She is a Director of the New York
Chapter of Better Investing where she develops and teaches national
and local investment education programs.
Gina Pirrone: Pirrone is a specialist in Personal Financial
Organization and Records Management and a Certified Senior Advisor.
She brings to AADMM over 20 years experience in accounting,
operations, and benefits management from a career with M.J. Meehan &
Company (former NYSE Member Firm) of New York City and a Bachelor of
Science degree in Business Administration from King's College in
Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Barbara Hance: An AADMM Board member since 2004, Hance
established her company to provide personal and financial management
services to the elderly, the infirm, and people with special needs.
The company now has offices in Farmington and Avon, CT. She is also
author of the book “Don’t Buy Green Bananas -- A Humorous Journey
Through the Sometimes Puzzling World of Aging,” a memoir of her
years serving the senior and frail populations.
Karl Nielsen: A Certified Senior Advisor, Nielsen joined
AADMM Board in 2006 when he was elected as the Associate Membership
representative. He is the Board liaison for the Certification
Committee, which is charged with responsibility for the development
of criteria and procedures to implement a voluntary certification
program for Daily Money Managers.
Marcia Turner: Turner joined the organization in 1997 and has
just completed two terms as president. She established her daily
money management business in 1996 after a 22-year career in retail
bank management with Fleet Bank and its predecessors. Marcia’s
business serves individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit
organizations. Marcia has also held various local positions with
Financial Women International and served as New England District
president for that group.
